Embedding Possa Bill in Daily Practice: Age-Specific Tips for Integrating the PLS Program Mascot

Possa Bill, our enthusiastic PLS program mascot, plays a vital role in helping children engage with the PLS program. Integrating Possa Bill into your daily routines supports the development of a growth mindset and positive behaviour.

Here are some easy and effective ways to bring Possa Bill into your learning environment, tailored by age group:

Birth to 6 Years

  • 🖼 Eye-Level Engagement: Display the Possa Bill poster at children’s eye level so it becomes a familiar and friendly part of their environment.

  • 🏠 Create a Special place: Set up a dedicated space or "Special Place" for Possa Bill where children can see and interact with him daily. This helps build connection and continuity.

Self Esteem Concept

Positive Living Skills has six core concepts for Early Childhood.

Highlights, Feelings, Focus, Relaxation, Co-Operation, and Self-Esteem. Each month, I will post one of the six core concept videos to help you learn about each concept.

Self esteem means I feel good about me. I am proud of who I am. I make good choices. I can make mistakes and that's okay.

The learning experiences within Self-Esteem teach children the concept of ones’ own worth and personal value.

Children build awareness of how they view themselves and others and how to build confidence and a healthy level of self esteem or self-worth.

This Unit helps children to learn the skills to identify how they see themselves and others, and how to build confidence and a growth mindset, learning that to achieve our personal best we must try new things then practice and persist.

Cooperation concept

Positive Living Skills has six core concepts for Early Childhood.

Highlights, Feelings, Focus, Relaxation, Co-Operation, and Self-Esteem. Each month, I will post one of the six core concept videos to help you learn about each concept.

Cooperation means working together. It means I listen to others. I watch what they do. We share and help each other.

The learning experiences within Cooperation introduce children to the concepts of working effectively with others in mutual support, to give and take and compromise, and to collaborate to achieve goals.

This learning engages children through play and activities, helping them identify what it means to work collaboratively and voluntarily with others to achieve tasks with a common purpose or benefit.

Children learn about achieving group goals and celebrating successes together and how they can work effectively with others to problem solve and achieve win-win outcomes.

When I relax I am calm and quiet. I can focus. I feel strong and healthy. I have a good sleep.

The Relaxation unit helps children by equipping them with practical skills to recover from and manage stress and improve focus and learning ability. By learning the importance of breathing, children can more effectively manage their emotional state.
